Breast cancer is not something that affects people based on their age. Individuals can develop breast cancer at completely different ages and for unique reasons. Because of this, it is important that you perform a breast self-examination.

A breast self-exam is performed by using the pads of your fingers to apply mild pressure to the breast. Move your fingers in a smooth circular pattern, traveling from the edges of the breast to the center. You should be feeling for any lumps, areas of thick tissue, or places that feel hardened and knotted. A breast self-exam can be performed while in the shower, lying down, or standing in front of the mirror.

It is recommended that you perform a breast self-exam at least once a month to check for any changes or irregularities in the breast tissue. If you have any question or concerns regarding breast cancer, please contact our office and one of our helpful team members will assist you.
